If I understand him correctly, he feels that Liberals should circumvent the will of the majority to force unpopular, possibly unconstitutional legislation upon the people.
If that’s the way that he feels then he must feel that we should not have popular elections or a constitution for that matter. Without popular elections taxpayers no longer have representation in government. Leaders would no longer be responsible to the people for their actions. Without the safeguards of the constitution they would have unlimited power.
That’s Totalitariansim.
Just because proponents of this form of governance have been responsible for more than 200 million deaths in this century alone doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try it again right?
Humanity is humanity. People in China (where more than 70 million were murdered by their government) are just as human as people in New York. The only thing that separates us from the will of tyrants is the rule of law created by the constitution. To believe that robbing the American People of their power to govern themselves is going to improve their lives is to ignore history.
That somebody like this is taken seriously by anybody after the fall of the Iron Curtain and the flood of information that followed afterward is stunning evidence of the power of propaganda.
That guy should be waiting tables at Waffle House.
